The DeWALT Framing Nailer recall was announced Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Consumers were urged to immediately stop using the DeWALT Clipped Head Framing Nailers with model number D51825, and DeWALT Full Round Head Framing Nailers with model number D51850, which were sold throughout the United States between January 2008 and September 2008 for approximately $280. A defectively assembled trigger could cause the framing nailer gun to eject a fastener unexpectedly, or cause the trigger lock-off not to function, the CPSC release said. There have been no injuries reported. Similar problems led to an August 2008 DeWALT nail gun recall for about 14,000 DC608 Cordless Brad Nailers. The nail guns also had a defect that allowed the gun to.
